Jeff Jumper - State Meteorologist

Jeff Jumper is the state meteorologist for the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency, where he works to help better prepare the agency and its stakeholders for weather hazards through forecasts, outreach, partnerships, and training.
 
Jeff joins the agency with over a decade of multi-disciplinary experience.  Professionally, Jeff has worked as a broadcast meteorologist with television stations in Pennsylvania, Alabama, and Louisiana covering severe weather, hurricanes, and snow storms.  Jeff is an American Meteorological Society Certified Broadcast Meteorologist and has his television seal of approval from the National Weather Association.
 
Jeff earned a Master of Science in Emergency Management from Millersville University in 2016 and a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology from Penn State University in 2006.
 
Mr. Jumper is also an active public servant as a volunteer firefighter and emergency medical technician, joining his first fire company at the age of 14 as a junior firefighter.
 
A Luzerne County native, he has also lived in Centre, Lycoming and York Counties.   Jeff now resides with his wife in Dauphin County.
Jeff’s passion lies in helping others, which is why he’s looking forward to helping develop a more weather savvy Commonwealth with the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency.
