 The Western Area Office serves 24 Counties and the City of Pittsburgh in Western Pennsylvania. (Allegheny, Armstrong, Beaver, Butler, Cambria, Cameron, Clarion, Clearfield, Crawford, Elk, Erie, Fayette, Forest, Greene, Indiana, Jefferson, Lawrence, McKean, Mercer, Somerset, Venango, Warren, Washington, and Westmoreland).
This partnership of state, county and municipal level emergency management strives to ensure the safety of all Pennsylvania residents and visitors. Through mitigation, planning, training, preparedness and exercises, emergency management staff prepare before disaster strikes. However, when disaster does strike, Western Region staff is prepared to respond to the county's need for assistance in the form of support staff for damage assessment, assistance with unmet needs, and liaison between the county and other Commonwealth Agencies.
