Hazardous Materials Response Fund
The grant application period is in January of each calendar year.
The Hazardous Materials Response Fund (HMRF), supported by fees assessed to the chemical industry, is designed to provide supplemental emergency preparedness funding for chemical emergency preparedness at county and state levels.
Are You Eligible?
Eligible entities are all county governments within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
How Can These Funds be Used?
These funds are to be used for the preparation of chemical emergency plans by local emergency planning committees (LEPCs) and industry, acquisition of hazardous materials response team equipment, public Right-to-Know education, chemical industry awareness and compliance, and the conduct of training and exercises.

Applications should be submitted electronically in the Electronic Single Application.

Award notification is provided to the local level from PEMA.
