Operation Stonegarden Grant Program

The grant application period in spring of each year, dependent on the timing of federal appropriations/announcement. 

OPSG Program Overview

OPSG supports enhanced cooperation and coordination among Customs and Border Protection (CBP), United States Border Patrol (USBP), and federal, state, local, tribal, and territorial law enforcement agencies. OPSG provides funding to support joint efforts to secure the United States’ borders along routes of ingress from international borders to include travel corridors in states bordering Mexico and Canada as well as states and territories with international water borders.

Are You Eligible?

Eligible subrecipients under OPSG are local units of government at the county level or equivalent level of government in states bordering Canada or Mexico and states and territories with international water borders. All applicants must have active ongoing USBP operations coordinated through a CBP sector office to be eligible for OPSG funding.

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania has only one international border making Erie County the only eligible entity under this program.

How Can These Funds be Used?

To support joint efforts to secure the United States’ borders along routes of ingress from international borders to include travel corridors in states bordering Mexico and Canada as well as states and territories with international water borders.

How to Apply

Applications submitted electronically to the federal HSIN system.

What to Expect after Applying

Feedback and review of applications will be provided. The HSIN Award notification will be provided to local level after PEMA receives the formal award from the federal agency.
